The mission behind the AC16 Animated Project platform is the creation of a support system to provide resources, investment and overall promotional tools to young entrepreneurs in the Caribbean with a special target of Caribbean diaspora investors. For the first time in its 15 year history the Animae Caribe Festival will feature five investment ready IP projects coming out of the Caribbean.
With a diaspora driven CrowdFunding platform and a pitching podium at the festival we are supporting young entrepreneurs in their attempts to get Caribbean content on the world stage. With the support and collaboration of Spang Makandra a social network organisation in Suriname and ApuraNetworks our official crowd funding partners for the AC Projects we can safely say that this is a pioneering, never before attempted project coming out of the Caribbean.
Apura’s mission is the creation of social value and impact by offering alternative ways to fund creative & social projects. Spang Makandra is a full-service internet marketing bureau and multi-media platform that has been in existence for over 10 years whose focus is the provision of these services to both Suriname and Guyana and now extending to other Caribbean islands. This project is a regionally funded campaign to foster the development of Caribbean IP in animation supported by Caribbean Development Bank and Caribbean Export Development Agency.
There are 4 reward-based Crowd Funding campaigns each with the objective to reach a target amount required to fund their next step. The intention is to create a way for members of the Caribbean Diaspora to easily contribute by co-investing in one or more of these exceptional campaigns. All online payments methods are securely offered such as PayPal, Visa, and MasterCard. In return for your pledge, you will be given a choice of amazing perks (rewards) dependent on size of contribution. These will vary from a personal copy of series of the animation video, or behind the scenes shots plus meet & greets, or even a percentage of the animation movie rights becoming an early stage co-owner.
